“I LEAVE YOU MY PEACE” (CONTINUED)

The peace of God is absolutely necessary to walking in faith and victory. In John, chapter 14, Jesus is speaking to His disciples. He is soon to go to be with His Father. He is letting His disciples, who depended so much on Him, know that He will send them another One in His place. Who would it be? The Holy Spirit! He will comfort them and teach them all things they need to know to walk according to God’s will. The same Holy Spirit is at work in the lives of believers today.

Jesus is saying in essence, “Let go of your cares. Rest in Me; My peace will keep your heart from being troubled.”

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:26–27).

Peace isn’t just a “feel-good” feeling; it’s a powerful fruit of the Spirit that will guide you when you have a decision to make. Peace will remove confusion, keep you on the right path, and prevent you from making mistakes. Peace will relieve the stress that so often causes sickness and anxiety, and drives us to speak foolish words and take desperate actions. Let the peace that Jesus gives be your guide today.

A Prayer for You

Dear God, many in the world today are fearful and uncertain about the future. They don’t know which way to turn or what to do. But, I am so thankful that I have the peace of God guiding me in everything I do, everywhere I go. Father, I pray for those who are hurting that You will bring them peace.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
